1979-1981 Mark Cuban

BIO
B:7/31/1958
If Mark Spitz is IU most famous athlete, then Mark Cuban has to be Indiana's most famous alumni. Although he did play rugby while at IU so I suppose he was an athlete as well. Cuban attended the University of Pittsburgh his freshman year, but transferred to IU because "it had the least expensive tuition of all the business schools on the top 10 list."
While Cuban started the business MicroSolutions first, his innovation in the radio and TV online streaming company Broadcast.com is what made him a billionaire. The company was started with fellow IU grad Todd Wagner because both were living in Dallas and could not listen to IU basketball games. Cuban sold the company in 1999 to yahoo for $5.9 billion in Yahoo stock.
Cuban is currently the owner of the NBA Franchise Dallas Mavericks. You can follow him on Twitter @mcuban

B:4/22/1966
Drafted: 1987 7th Round, 164th overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates
Drafted: 1988 5th Round, 120nd overall pick by the Philadelphia Phillies
If Ted Kluszewski is the best professional player to come out of IU, then Mickey Morandini would be the second best. He was the most prolific and diversified hitter while attending IU. He is the only player in IU history to be All-Big Ten 1st team for three years. He is in the top top 10 in 8 career offensive categories, owning the best mark in Doubles, Triples, Runs, and Stolen Bases. He is in the top 10 in 13 single season offensive categories, owning the records of runs, and Slugging Percentage in a season. For someone who later became known as a fielding virtuoso, he was an offensive force during his four years at IU.
Morandini was drafted in 1987 by the Pirates, but declined due to his interest in playing for Team USA in the 1988 Olympics. He joined the team and won a gold medal in Seoul.
His MLB career started in 1990, and he spent 11 season in the majors. One of the feats he is most know for occurred on 9/20/1992 against the Pirates when he turned an unassisted triple play.
After retiring he coached at Valparaiso until 2011 when he became the manager of the Williamsport Crosscutters. He has since coached the Phillies Single A team the Lakewood BlueClaws (2012-2013) and the Triple A Lehigh Valley IronPigs (2014).
